Richard Fields is most well-known as the Chairman of Coastal Development and for his role in the co-development of the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Florida. However Richard Fields is truly passionate about philanthropy. He supports a variety of charities and non-profit organizations through The Fields Family Foundation; a non-profit organization created by Richard Fields and his family.

The Fields Family Foundation has generously contributed to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Richard Fields and the Fields Family Foundation were honored in 2006 as a "Hero" for their considerable donations to the NCMEC. Richard Fields is also an active board member for the group. The NCMEC helps families and law enforcement find abducted children with the AMBER Alert system which alerts law enforcement groups and news agencies across the country when a child is missing. The group also works to prevent the abduction and sexual exploitation of children.

Richard Fields also supports the Good Shepherd Services; a non-profit organization that provides social, residential and foster care services to struggling children and their families.

Richard Fields and The Fields Family Foundation are also generous supporters of the New York City Police Foundation, the only group authorized by the NYPD to raise money and resources on its behalf.
